Ariel Young (born 2001) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays as a defender for the UCF Knights and the Canadian national team.

Early life[]

Young was born in Walkerton, Ontario and moved to Ottawa aged five. She grew up competing in volleyball and ringette as well as soccer, and first joined Ottawa South United aged seven.[1]

Club career[]

In 2015, Young was named as Players' Player of the Year at Ottawa South United and was later identified as one of 22 girls to take part in Ontario's Regional Excel Program – a feeder program for Canada's national teams.

She was selected for Ontario's provincial team in both 2015 and 2016, before joining the Ottawa Fury Elite Girls Academy aged 14.[2]

College career[]

Young has committed to the University of Central Florida.[3]

International career[]

On November 12, 2017, she made her international debut in a 3–1 defeat to the United States.[1]
