Armando Torres Chibrás is an orchestra conductor at Pershing Middle School,[2] with extended activities as scholar,[3][4] lecturer,[5] academic jury, author[6] and arts leader born in Mexico City. He is currently Head of the Orchestral Academy Program[7] of El Sistema-Mexico (Sistema Nacional de Fomento Musical[8]), an agency of the National Council for Culture and the Arts of Mexico.[9]
Torres Chibrás has guest-conducted some of the Mexican leading orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico,[10] the Querétaro Philharmonic Orchestra (Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de Querétaro), the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra (OFUNAM), the ,[11] the , the , the , the , the , the Camerata of Querétaro Philharmonic, the , or the .[12] Torres Chibrás is as well the author of ",[13] " a biography of the Mexican conductor and composer of the celebrated orchestral fantasy "Huapango" for orchestra.
