Asemanabad (Persian: آسمان آباد, also Romanized as Āsemānābād)[2] is a city in the Central District of Chardavol County, Ilam Province, Iran.[3]

Location

The people of Asemanabad are ethnically one of the tribes of Khazal tribe called Qolyvand and the population of Asemanabad village is about 30 thousand people and the population of Asemanabad city is about 10 thousand people.

Most of the people living in Asemanabad live in agriculture and animal husbandry, as well as the Banquol oil well, which was drilled by the Americans before the revolution, but has not been exploited. This city is a lot of tourism that has historical and natural places that we will introduce in the following.

Asemanabad city has a temperate mountainous climate in most days of the year with a cool and pleasant weather and therefore has a pristine forest nature with dense trees and covered with bubbling springs in all seasons, especially spring. Welcomes nature lovers.

The weather in this region is very mild in spring and caresses the eyes of every viewer and can be one of the best travel options for Nowruz holidays.

The distance from Asemanabad city to the center of Ilam province is 40 km and the distance from Asemanabad city to Kermanshah city is 115 km from Qalajeh pass (Arbaeen tunnel)

The city is populated by Kurds.[4]
