Aviation Mall is a major regional shopping mall in Glens Falls North, New York. It serves the northern portion of the Capital District (Albany Metropolitan Area) as well as the Glens Falls/Lake George area. The mall has a gross leasable area of 630,000 square feet (59,000 m2).[1] It is owned and managed by The Pyramid Companies. The mall maintains chain anchors JCPenney, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target, Regal Cinemas, Planet Fitness, Ollie's Bargain Outlet, and local stalwart Peter Harris.

History[]

Aviation Mall opened in 1975 with JCPenney and regional chain Denby's as anchors. The mall was later expanded with Sears and Caldor. In 1994, JCPenney built a new store while the original became smaller stores. In 1998, Caldor closed and became The Bon-Ton. In 2004, Target opened as an addition. In 2005, Dick's Sporting Goods constructed a new store in an expansion area.

In June 2016, Regal Cinemas announced it will be constructing two screens and receive upgrades.

The late 2010's saw multiple classic chain anchors retreat from brick and mortar after being challenged by digital retailers in recent years.

In 2018, it was also announced regional division The Bon-Ton will close.[2][3]

On August 28, 2019, The Bon-Ton became an Ollie's Bargain Outlet.[4]
