Barry Robert Lowen is a British diplomat, who has served as the British Ambassador to Mali since January 2021. Lowen previously served as the British Ambassador to Algeria from 2017 to 2020.[1]

He was announced as the British Ambassador to Mali in December 2020, and took up his appointment the following month.[2]

Personal life[]

Lowen is married to Karin Rhiannon Lowen. Lowen speaks French and Arabic.[1] He has three sons, Glyn, Harri and Tomos.[2]
