The Bhandari community is a caste that inhabits the western coast of India. They form the largest caste group in the state of Goa, reportedly being over 30% of that state's Hindu population, and play a major role in deciding the future of any political party there.[1]

Classification[]

Bhandaris are included in the list of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Goa. This provides them with certain rights under India's scheme of affirmative action, such as reservation of positions in government employment and admission to professional colleges.[2] They are also classified as OBCs in Maharashtra.[3] William Molesworth has given the meaning of the word Bhandari in terms of the treasurer, the Vihar, or the Dakshavnagar. In earlier times, it is considered to be the storekeeper of the state's store. There is also an understanding among those who rebel against the king and the royalty - the Bhandari, who like the king. The areas where the Bhandari community resides, have found the dialects/language of those areas and they are found to be homogeneous. For example, Devkar Bhandari in Gujarati speaks Gujarati dialect while the Bhavari Govanti of Goa is known for speaking dialects. Coconut shells speak Konkani. The language of Malvani Bhandari is full of depraved forms of many Indian words. For example -

were using Bhandari community of men dhoti, shirt and a white hat or black. If you have to go for a special ceremony, then wear the Upana also. The people of the rich families used to wear dhoti, coats, auspiciousness, and head turban. Ladies' dress was rare. Farmers of the Bhandari community turned it to their agriculture and used that water to make rice crops in the summer. Farmers of the Bhandari community are leading in the field of wholesalers. Bhandari society is known as a labor-farmer. In their garden, along with mango and cashew nuts, they are found in the beautiful Baga beach on the coast of Coconut, and in the districts of Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and Raigad.

The Bhandari community has created Chiku's beautiful barn at Dahanu, Palghar and Tulasi. Those gardens are sent to the market for sale in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai. Lily flowers are planted as an intercrop in the chicken garden. Farmers of the Bhandari community in the Balasad, Surat, and Baddok districts of Gujarat state are skilled in food grain crops and cotton, sugarcane, fruit trees, and vegetable crops. Jaywantrao Patil, a former member of the Planning Commission of India, has taken great reviews of the progress made by the Bhandari community in the field of agriculture.

Mayank Bhandari was popularly known as Naval Chief under the leadership of Shivaji Maharaj. In their strength, the Bhandari youths of Konkan had more money. He was known for his boldness and prosperity. That's why they were previously seen in the shipbuilding business and recently in the custom cleaning business.

Bhandari society eat rice flour and pickle for rice as a vegetarian. After coming home, however, the fish's cannibal and rice became their food. During the festival of Holi, primates are filled with coconut milk, and Modak is done at Gauri and Ganapati festival. Some churches have their life prowess of Lord Ganesha, But Gauri worship can be seen from all the houses.

Various texts provide different information about the religious customs and traditions of the Bhandari community. Although Khalnath, Kalikdev, Satari, Nagnath, and Ekvira Devi are the totals of the reserves, Bhandari's original devotee is worshiped. According to some, the Bhandari people were Nagvanshi, and after the Mahabharata, they came from the south through the turbulence of the Aryans, while others said they came from Maharashtra to Rajasthan.

People from Konkan have performed Shrigaganotsav and Holikatsav with great reverence. All the servants of Mumbai go to Konkan for the festivals of Lord Ganapati and Holi. In many villages, the honor of the festival of Holi is given to the people of the family members of the traders in the tradition of the Bhandari community. Whether women's festivities are fasting or a mix of cooked coffee, young women look like they are celebrating in the past.
