The blue-headed hummingbird (Riccordia bicolor) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.

Distribution and habitat[]

It is found only in Dominica and Martinique. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and heavily degraded former forest.

Taxonomy[]

It was formerly placed in the genus Chlorostilbon. A molecular phylogenetic study published in 2014 found that the genus Chlorostilbon was polyphyletic.[2] In the revised classification to create monophyletic genera, the blue-headed hummingbird was moved to the resurrected genus Riccordia.[3][4]
