Robert Wilson (born March 4, 1968) is a former American football defensive tackle. He played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Washington Redskins. He was drafted in the first round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Redskins.

Early life[]

Wilson was born in Chicago, where he attended and played high school football at Austin Community Academy High School. While in high school, he also participated in wrestling and shot put.[1]

College career[]

Wilson attended and played college football at Michigan State University. Before attending Michigan State, he spent his freshman year at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, a junior college in Miami, Oklahoma.[1]

Professional career[]

Wilson was drafted in the first round with the 17th overall pick of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, where he played from 1991 to 1994. It was a surprising pick, not because of Wilson, but because at the time the Redskins rarely drafted in the first round. He was a member of the 1991 Redskins team that won Super Bowl XXVI.
