Boys Run the Riot (Japanese: ボーイズ・ラン・ザ・ライオット, Hepburn: Bōizu Ran za Raiotto) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Keito Gaku. It was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine from January to August 2020, before being transferred to Kodansha's Comic Days manga app in September 2020. It has been collected in three tankōbon volumes as of December 2020.
Plot[]
Boys Run the Riot follows a transgender high school boy named Ryo Watari and his struggles in a school setting that does not accept his gender. His interest in men's fashion leads to him to befriend Jin Sato, a cisgender boy who is also an outcast.
Publication[]
Boys Run the Riot is written and illustrated by Keito Gaku. It was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine from January 27 to August 31, 2020,[2][3] before being transferred to Kodansha's Comic Days manga app, starting publication on September 9, 2020.[4] Kodansha has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on July 6, 2020.[5] As of February 5, 2021, four volumes have been released.[6]
In North America, Kodansha USA announced the English language release of the manga in November 2020.[7] The first volume was published on May 25, 2021.[8]
