The buff-thighed puffleg (Haplophaedia assimilis) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is found in Bolivia and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forest and heavily degraded former forest. It is often considered a subspecies of the greenish puffleg.
