Connor Marc Colquhoun (born 26 July 1996), known online as CDawgVA, is a Welsh, Tokyo-based YouTuber and voice actor. He is affiliated with the Kadokawa-backed agency GeeXPlus.

Career[]

YouTube[]

Many of Colquhoun's videos feature him cosplaying, role-playing, with roles ranging from hosts, butlers, pole dancers, and visual kei musicians.[1][2] His Youtube channel gained popularity because of his attention to anime, with his favorite being JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.[3]

In November 2019, Colquhoun moved to northwestern Tokyo, Japan to begin working as an influencer for the Kadokawa-backed agency GeeXPlus. The effort was to help promote/introduce anime and Japanese culture to the rest of the world through his content.[4] In February 2020, Colquhoun joined alongside with Joey Bizinger (The Anime Man) and Garnt Maneetapho (Gigguk) in creating and hosting a weekly podcast called Trash Taste, where they discuss anime, manga, otaku culture, and their experiences while living in Japan.[5][6] The first episode came out on 5 June 2020 and it, and all episodes since, are available on YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes.[7] The series, along with other collaborations with YouTubers based in Japan, have greatly expanded Colquhoun's subscriber count; reaching one million subscribers in six years on 9 February 2020, it doubled to two million on 23 March 2021.[8] In October 2020, Colquhoun created his second channel, ConnorDawg, which features mostly streaming highlights and gaming content from his Twitch channel. In June 2021, Colquhoun and Chris Broad (Abroad in Japan) began a new YouTube series called Chris & Connor's Wacky Weekend; the show alternates monthly between CDawgVA and Abroad in Japan.[9]

Video editing is done by Toomas Lismus (Mudan) and Evan Guerrero (Evanit0).[10][11]

Voice acting[]

Colquhoun started voice acting in parallel to his YouTube career, doing mainly amateur work with a few paying gigs. When Colquhoun lived in London, he worked professionally doing corporate narrations and commercials.[12]
