Chloe (TV series)

Chloe is an upcoming BBC and Amazon Prime Video 6-part psychological thriller series written and directed by Alice Seabright exploring contemporary attitudes to obsession, deceit, identity and grief and the use of social media. The production will feature an original score written by and featuring members of Goldfrapp and Portishead.[1][2]

Plot[]

The series follows a young woman named Becky. Living with her mum who has early-onset dementia and working as a temp, Becky compares herself to the picture-perfect lives on Instagram, compulsively returning to one account: Chloe's. Becky obsessively watches her seemingly flawless life through social media. But when Chloe dies suddenly, Becky’s need to find out how and why leads her to assume a new identity and engineer a ‘chance’ meeting with Chloe’s best friend, Livia, and infiltrate Chloe's group of close-knit friends.[3]

Series creator Seabright co-wrote the series with Kayleigh Llewellyn, Poppy Cogan, and Bolu Babalola. It is produced by Joanna Crow and executive produced by Tally Garner and Morven Reid at Mam Tor, and Ben Irving at the BBC.[4]

Filming[]

Chloe has started filming in Bristol at The Bottle Yard Studios on location and will also feature the work of artists local to the region.[5][6]

Soundtrack[]

An original score composed by Will Gregory of the music duo Goldfrapp, featuring his musical partner Alison Goldfrapp, and Adrian Utley of Bristol band Portishead.[7]

Broadcast[]

It will air on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK and on Amazon Prime internationally.[8]
