Coles Local is a subsidiary of Coles Supermarkets in Australia, founded in November 2018 in Surrey Hills, Victoria as a way of expanding into the popular small format store market.[1]
It has since expanded to ten sites in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. In 2021 the Balwyn North store, the site of the first Coles supermarket in Australia, was refurbished and rebranded as Coles Local. Local stores ended up being reconfigured to either a Format A, Format B or Format C supermarket.[2]
