She was a fourth child of Count Georg Christian of Waldstein-Wartenberg (1743-1791) and of his wife, Countess Elisabeth Ulfeldt (1747-1791), great-granddaughter of the notorious Count Corfitz Ulfeldt. In Vienna on 13 February 1792, she married Hungarian nobleman Ferenc József, Prince Koháry de Csábrág et Szitnya, member of an enormously rich House of Koháry, to whom she bore two children, Ferenc (21 December 1792 – 19 April 1795) and Mária Antónia.
