DYPT-TV, channel 11, is a Regional television station of Philippine-government owned television network People's Television Network. Its transmitter are located at Mt. Busay Television Broadcast Site, Sitio Babag, Brgy. Busay, Cebu City. The station is currently planning to upgrade to an originating station in the future after the Visayas Media Hub is completed.

It opened in 1978 as the network's local station for the province, and has been airing on the Channel 11 frequency since 1988.

History[]

September 11, 1963 - PTV begin its broadcasts in Cebu via Channel 11, which was launched by Associated Broadcasting Corporation (now TV5 Network, Inc.), with the call sign DYMT-TV until President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos declared Martial Law on September 21, 1972.
February 2, 1974 - During the Martial Law era, the station reopened as DYGT-TV and became an owned-and-operated station of the National Media Production Center as Government Television (GTV) under Lito Gorospe and later by then-Press Secretary Francisco Tatad. It is the first television station in Central Visayas.
1978 - DYGT-TV switched affiliation to Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation, with call sign changed to DYCW-TV. On the same year, GTV was transferred to Channel 3 under the call sign DYCB-TV, then upon became Maharlika Broadcasting System (MBS) in 1980.
February 24, 1986 - Following the People Power Revolution on which it was taken over by pro-Corazon Aquino, the station was officially rebranded as People's Television (PTV).
1988 - PTV took over Channel 11 frequency, it changed its call letters to DYPT-TV which upgraded as originating station seven years later. As Channel 3 became the first regional television station for ABS-CBN in the city, the station was reopened with a new frequency, Channel 11 which was used formerly by ABC, TV5 Cebu is currently broadcasts on UHF Channel 21 and Channel 7 remains the originating station of GMA in the Cebu area.
January 15, 2011 - After it was lasted for twenty-five years in Cebu, the station suddenly went off the air needed to upgrade its facilities.
August 29, 2015 - PTV-11 Cebu resumes its operations and downgraded to relay (satellite-selling) station, with the 10,000-watt brand new transmitter from the Advanced Broadcasting Electronics (ABE) Elettronica of Italy, complemented by a 250-foot tower in Sitio Babag, Barangay Busay, Cebu City, coinciding with the APEC Summit held in the city after it went off the air for 4 years and in the future, there were no plans to launch its newscast.^[1]
June 1, 2018 - PTV Cebu started digital test broadcasts on UHF Channel 42.
