Daniel Ray Allen Cooksey Jr. (born November 2, 1975) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his roles in television shows, such as Diff'rent Strokes during the final three seasons, The Cavanaughs, Xiaolin Showdown, and Salute Your Shorts, and for providing the voice of Montana Max in Tiny Toon Adventures.

Early life[]

Cooksey was born in Moore, Oklahoma, the son of Melody Ann (née Wagoner) and Daniel Ray Allen Cooksey, Sr.[1]

Career[]

Acting[]

In 1979, Cooksey and his mother moved to Los Angeles with the intention of pursuing a career in country music. When an agent saw Cooksey's performance, he invited the young actor to audition for Diff'rent Strokes; he was cast as Sam McKinney, a part he played for the last three seasons. He also played Kevin Cavanaugh in The Cavanaughs, Bobby Budnick in Salute Your Shorts, John Connor's friend Tim in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the title character in The Further Adventures of SuperTed, Montana Max in Tiny Toon Adventures, Milo Kamalani on Pepper Ann, Jack Spicer in Xiaolin Showdown, and the title character in Dave the Barbarian. He also lent his voice to the Kids' WB animated series Static Shock as Francis Stone/Hotstreak.

Music[]

Cooksey was the lead singer in the band Bad4Good. They released one CD, Refugee, for Interscope Records in 1992. He was also a member of Lucy's Milk in 1996 and Arbuckle in 2004. In between Bad4Good and Lucy's Milk, Cooksey attempted to form another super group called Sheriff, which consisted of himself, his former Salute Your Shorts castmates Blake Sennett and Michael Bower, and his former Bad4Good bandmate Zach Young. The Sheriff project was abandoned when the band was unable to acquire a record deal. In 2013, Cooksey worked with the Western band Shelter Dogs, providing guitar and vocals. He still makes sporadic appearances with Shelter Dogs.[citation needed]
