"Don't Waste My Time" is a song by British rock band Status Quo. It is the opening track on their 1972 album Piledriver.

Release history and live performance[]

The song was written by Francis Rossi and Bob Young in the soon-to-be trademark shuffle style the group would become famous for. The lyrics reverse gender stereotypes: the guy complains about a girl who's just out for a good time and a few laughs, not being serious about a relationship and messing around.

The song became a live favourite, and frequently got audiences bouncing around at gigs.[1][2] It was included on several compilation albums, such as XS All Areas – The Greatest Hits and Accept No Substitute! The Definitive Hits and was one of the three songs the band played when opening Live Aid on July 13th, 1985. [3]
