Dubai Cares is a UAE-based global philanthropic organization.[1] It was founded on September 19, 2007 by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.[2]

History[]

Dubai Cares is a member of the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC)[3] and a registered non-government organization under IACAD.[4][5][6]

The organization advocates for children's rights.[7] Fundraising initiatives include[8] the Walk for Education,[9][10] Volunteer Emirates,[11][12] Volunteer Globally[13][14] and the Ramadan campaign.[15][16]

Skilling for Sustainable Tourism in Ecuador[25] VVOB (Flemish Association for Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance) Youth and skills Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Aims to provide students from tourism-related courses in upper secondary with the skills needed to gain decent employment in Ecuador's travel and tourism industry. Also aims to improve teachers’ technical and pedagogical competences.
Introducing New Vocational Educational Skills Training (INVEST) Program in Tajikistan[26] Mercy Corps Youth and skills Tackles youth unemployment and aims to improve access to economic opportunities for vulnerable youth by equipping them with life and work readiness skills.
Real Assets and Improved Skills and Education for Adolescent Girls (RAISE) in Philippines[27] Plan International Girls' education Supports children and adolescents who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out from school, especially girls, with opportunities to complete primary school and transition to secondary school.
Innovating on a Solution for Education Systems Change in Rwanda Educate! Secondary education Implements Dubai Cares' model of practical and skills-based education.[28] Work on the capacity building of teachers to implement government initiated curriculum reforms. Advise the government on the roll-out of the new competency-based curriculum for entrepreneurship studies.
Transforming Students Learning and Teachers’ Professional Development through ICT in Kenya and Uganda[29] Aga Khan Foundation Education technology Uses information communication technology to transform the learning experience of students in the classroom.
Inclusive Education in Northern Uganda[30] Leonard Cheshire Disability Inclusive education Ensures the enrollment of 500 children with disabilities in mainstream schools in the Amolatar district and supports them with interventions to improve their learning.[31]
