Dylan Matthew Schmidt (born 7 January 1997) is a New Zealand trampoline gymnast. He competed in the trampoline competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics,[1] where he finished in seventh place. He was New Zealand's first athlete to compete in Trampoline at an Olympic Games.[2][3]

Trampoline career[]

Schmidt won a gold medal at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in China. He won silver medal at the 2016 Olympic test event before competing at the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing 7th in the individual men's category.[2][4] In the Tokyo 2020 held in 2021 he again represented New Zealand in men's gymnastic trampolining qualifying third after two routines reduced the 16-strong field to eight finalists and going on to win Bronze.[5]

His sister, Rachel Schmidt, and brother, have both also competed internationally in trampolining.[6]
