Eastern Christian School is a private Christian school located on three campuses in Northern New Jersey. Eastern Christian Elementary School (ECES), Eastern Christian Middle School (ECMS), and Eastern Christian High School (ECHS) are all part of Eastern Christian School.

Eastern Christian Elementary School (ECES), Eastern Christian Middle School (ECMS), and Eastern Christian High School (ECHS) are part of the Eastern Christian School Association. They are the board who decide all decisions for Eastern Christian Schools.

Eastern Christian Elementary School[]

Eastern Christian Elementary School (ECMS) is a private Christian school located in Midland Park, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The elementary school is a part of the Eastern Christian School Association which also has a middle school Eastern Christian Middle School in Wyckoff and a high school Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon. ECES accepts students from anywhere in New Jersey.[3]

Academics[]

Eastern Christian Elementary School has many classes to offer. These include: Art, Bible, Computers, Health, Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Science, and Social Studies.

Eastern Christian Middle School[]

Eastern Christian Middle School (ECMS) is a Private Christian school located in Wyckoff, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The high school is a part of the Eastern Christian School Association which also has a High School Eastern Christian High School in Wyckoff and an elementary school (ECES) in Midland Park.

As of the 2009-10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 197 students and 18.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis).[4]

Academics[]

Eastern Christian Middle School has many regular and elective classes. They have piano and guitar lessons at a weekly or bi-weekly basis for $35/session.[5] The schools offers Art, Bible, Computers, Health, Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Science, and Social Studies.[6]

Athletics[]

Eastern Christian Middle School offers soccer, basketball, softball, and track.

Eastern Christian High School[]

Eastern Christian High School (ECHS) is a Private Christian school located in North Haledon, in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. The high school is a part of the Eastern Christian School Association which also has a middle school (ECMS) in Wyckoff and an elementary school (ECES) in Midland Park. ECHS accepts students from anywhere in New Jersey.[3]

As of the 2009-10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 335 students and 30.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.1:1.[7] Eastern Christian follows a program called "Faith in Action" in which every student in the high school is required to complete a certain amount of volunteer hours in order to get their high school diploma.

Athletics[]

The Eastern Christian Eagles compete in the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference (NJIC), made up of private and public high schools located in Bergen County, Hudson County and Passaic County, following a reorganization of sports leagues in Northern New Jersey by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.[8] Prior to realignment that took effect in the fall of 2010, Eastern Christian was a member of the smaller Bergen-Passaic Scholastic League (BPSL).[9]

In 2007, the girls soccer team, seeded #2, won the North B state sectional championship with a 3-0 win over top-seeded Gill St. Bernard's School in the tournament final, the team's first title in this section.[10][11] The team moved on to win the Group B state championship with a 2-1 win over Bishop Eustace High School.[12][13]

Eastern Christian won the first North Non-Public B state sectional track and field title, edging second place team Villa Walsh Academy by a margin of 126-123.[14] Cross country runner Kristen Traub won the Non-Public B individual title in 2009.[15]
