Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly

The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly was established on 1 January 2015.[1] This followed an amendment to the Local Government Act 1991, replacing 8 Regional Authorities with 3 Regional Assemblies.[2]

The Eastern and Midland Region (coded IE06) is a NUTS Level II statistical region of Ireland.[3][4] It contains three strategic planning areas, each of which is a NUTS Level III statistical region.

It members are nominated from among the members of its constituent local authorities.[5]
