Ella Balinska (born 4 October 1996) is an English[1] actress. She is known for starring in the 2019 action comedy film Charlie's Angels.

Early life and education[]

Balinska was born on 4 October 1996 in London, England, to Polish entrepreneur Kazimierz Baliński-Jundziłł and chef Lorraine Pascale.[2][3][4] She has described her background as being a mix of "British, Polish and Caribbean".[5] Her parents divorced in 2000.[3]

She played county-level netball and competed in track and field at a national level,[6] having been the javelin thrower for Team London.[7] She went to James Allen's Girls' School in Dulwich, London, and left in 2015. She then went on to train at the Guildford School of Acting.[8] She left during her final semester in 2018 for work and returned in 2020 to complete her degree, officially graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting in 2021.[9] The Ella Balinska Scholarship was established in her name.[10]

Career[]

In 2017, Balinska obtained the lead role in The Athena (2019) as Nyela Malik.[11] She starred alongside Kristen Stewart and Naomi Scott in the action comedy Charlie's Angels, a continuation of the 1976 television series of the same name and two previous theatrical films.[1] It was released in November 2019, garnering mixed critical reviews.[12][13]

Balinska will portray and voice Frey Holland, the protagonist of the action role-playing video game Forspoken.[14] She is set to star in Netflix's Resident Evil, a live-action television series based on the video game series of the same name.[15]
