Emily is an upcoming biographical film written and directed by Frances O'Connor.

Depicts the brief life of famed English writer Emily Brontë.

The film was announced in May 2020 with Emma Mackey cast in the titular role, with Joe Alwyn, Fionn Whitehead and Emily Beecham being cast as various people in Emily’s life. Frances O'Connor was set to write and direct the film.[1]

Alwyn and Beecham would exit prior to the start of filming in April 2021 in Yorkshire, with Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Alexandra Dowling, Amelia Gething, Gemma Jones and Adrian Dunbar joining the cast.[2] Filming began on April 16 and concluded on May 26, 2021.[3]
