Erbil Governorate (Kurdish: پارێزگای ھەولێر ,Parêzgeha Hewlêr‎,[4][5] Arabic: محافظة أربيل‎, romanizedMuḥāfaẓat Arbīl[6]), sometimes referred to by the alternative spelling Arbil Governorate, is a governorate of Iraq in Kurdistan Region. It is the capital and economic hub of the autonomous region of Kurdistan Region.[7]

  • Tishk International University (Previously called Ishik University): Private university that was established in 2008 in Erbil.[13]
