Eure is an unincorporated community in mid-western Gates County, North Carolina, United States. It lies at an elevation of 23 feet (7 m).[1] It is approximately 15 minutes away from Merchants Millpond State Park,[2] and about 40 minutes away from the Great Dismal Swamp.[3]
The community of Eure has a VFD, The Eure Volunteer Fire Department, which has been serving its community since 1980. [4]
The Train House, run by Richard and Peggy Pearce, is open every night for the month of December, excepting Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. It exhibits model trains in a world created by the Pearces themselves, an impressive display of old fashioned toys, advertisements and other objects from the past, and a little room lined with a collection of Barbies. [5]
