Expressway S7 or express road S7 (Polish: Droga ekspresowa S7) is a major road in Poland which has been planned to run from Gdańsk on the Baltic coast through Elbląg, Warsaw, Radom, Kielce and Kraków to Rabka near the border with Slovakia. On almost the entire route, the S7 will be built by upgrading the existing National Road 7 (DK 7). Its total planned length is 720 km (450 mi), of which 308 km (191 mi) has been built and a further 145.9 km (90.7 mi) is under construction in December 2019.

The upgrade is part of a European plan to fund 330 kilometers of new express roads in Poland.[1]

As of October 2018, the longest stretch of this road that has been completed is a 200 km (120 mi) long section between Gdańsk and the village of Napierki. In June 2012, the S7 expressway, south of Gdańsk, formed the city's southern bypass and was opened to the public. In July 2013, the second carriageway of the Kielce bypass was completed and fully opened to traffic. Two stretches of the Southern Warsaw Bypass opened to traffic in July 2013 and September 2013, respectively. In October 2018, an extension of the S7 expressway from just north of Radom to just to the south of Szydłowiec was opened. This forms a bypass of the town of Radom. In September 2017, an extension of the S7 expressway from Jędrzejów to the border of the Holy Cross Province and Lesser Poland opened. In November 2021 the 12 km (7.5 mi) Słomniki bypass opened to traffic. In December 2021 a 44 km (27 mi) extension of the expressway from Mława to the village of Pawłowo (north of Płońsk) opened to traffic, this section includes the bypasses of Strzegowo and Glinojeck. The 12 km (7.5 mi) gap in the expressway between Nidzica and Mława together with the 34 km (21 mi) gap between Pawłowo and Płońsk are due to be fully opened in mid 2022 (at present only one carriageway of this section is open to traffic).

According to current government plans, the road is to be completed by 2026, with the exception of Kraków - Myślenice section (25 km) where the existing dual carriageway national road 7 will serve the traffic until S7 is constructed in unspecified future. In 2020, a study for a dual-carriageway extension of S7 from Rabka-Zdrój to the Polish-Slovak border (connecting to R3 expressway) was announced.[2]
