Faradina Mohd. Nadzir (born 7 February, 1985), also known as Dina Nadzir or Dina, is a Malaysian singer, radio announcer, actress, television presenter, and businesswoman. She was the runner up for the first season of Malaysian Idol.[1] After discovering her singing voice at the age of 16[citation needed], she appeared on the series approximately three years later in 2004. She is the two-time winner of the “Annual World Championships of Performing Arts” competition in Los Angeles.

Early life[]

Dina was born on February 7, 1985, in Johor Bahru, Johor to her parents who are both police officers. She is the second child among four siblings and the only daughter among all the brothers. Dina did not like dolls as a child. When her mother bought a Barbie doll for her, she threw it into the toilet. Dina was fond of children’s rifles and soldier figurines. This is because she was raised among boys and not because she is a tomboy.

When she was young, Dina’s ambition is to become Malaysia’s first female pilot. However, due to there being others who have done so, she decided to change it. A music fan, Dina plays piano and drum during her secondary school years at Sultan Ibrahim Girls' Secondary School, Johor Bahru.
