Gérald Frère (born 17 May 1951) is a Belgian businessman, the chairman of Groupe Bruxelles Lambert since January 2012, and its former CEO.[1]

Early life[]

Gérald Frère was born in Charleroi, Belgium on 17 May 1951.[2]

He is the eldest son of Albert Frère and his first wife, Nelly Poplimont, and they had a son, Gerald.[3]

Career[]

Frère is the chairman of , Groupe Bruxelles Lambert, , , and the vice chairman of .[2]

Frère is the managing director of , Frère-Bourgeois, and .[2]

He is a director of Power Financial, ERBE, , , and .[2]

In April 2018, he was accused of nepotism for appointing his son Cédric as regent in the National Bank of Belgium.[4][5]

Private life[]
