Garland E. Pierce (born July 9, 1953) is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly, representing the state's 48th House district since 2004. Pierce is African-American.[1] During the 2016 legislative session, Pierce was one of 11 Democrats to vote in favor of HB2, the controversial "Bathroom Bill".[2] He was reelected in 2020.
