Genesis Partners is an Israeli venture capital firm, founded in 1996 by Eddy Shalev and Dr. Eyal Kishon.[2]
Overview[]
Genesis's investment strategy is focused on early-stage Israeli innovation-driven technology companies. Their companies operate in the following spaces: communications & wireless technologies, infrastructure software & hardware, enterprise software, internet applications and services, digital media, consumer applications and services, and mobile applications and services. Genesis has over $20 billion in assets under management and has over the past 19 years invested in over 300 companies.[3]
Genesis Partners co-invests alongside other leading venture capital firms and angel investors, like Sequoia Capital,[citation needed] Norwest Venture Partners,[citation needed] Canaan Partners, Accel Partners,[citation needed] Benchmark Capital,[citation needed] Greylock Partners, Joe Lonsdale (founder of Palantir Technologies),[4] and Eric Schmidt's Innovation Endeavors[5] and more.
In 2011, Genesis Partner's launched The Junction, Israel's first open house for entrepreneurs.[6] Entrepreneurs who are selected to work on their venture at The Junction for six months, before ending their experience in a Demo Day to Israeli angel investors and venture capital firms.
The firm's partners include Eddy Shalev, Dr. Eyal Kishon, Gary Gannot, Jonathan Saacks and Hadar Kiriati.[2]
In 2019, Insight Venture Partners announced purchasing the majority of the portfolio of Genesis Partners’ fourth fund, Genesis Partners IV.[7]
