Germain Hughes (born 15 November 1996) is an Anguillan footballer who plays as a defender for Roaring Lions and the Anguilla national football team.[1]

Club career[]

Hughes started his career at local side Salsa Ballers before accepting a scholarship at the University of the West Indies. During his studies he played in Barbados for UWI Blackbirds. In 2017 he was invited to the 2018 MLS Caribbean Combine,[2] watched by MLS clubs, but did not earn a contract. After a year in England, he moved to Gibraltar to play for Leo on 16 June 2019.[3] However, the club folded before the season started, leaving Hughes without a club.[4]

Hughes made his senior international debut on 10 October 2012 in a 2–0 away defeat to Saint Kitts and Nevis in Caribbean Cup qualification,[5][6] becoming the youngest player to represent Anguilla at 15 years old.[7]
