Ghunzakhi (Pashto: غونساخیalso known as Khajoor) is a traditional pastry in Pashtun areas usually served to female guests, married sisters, and daughters on returning to their husbands' homes after spending some days with parents, brothers, or uncles.[citation needed] The pastry is made from lightly leavened dough, which is prepared with sugar, caramelized in oil, and mixed with flour, yeast, and salt.[1]
