Giraudi Group is based in the Principality of Monaco and is made up of various companies in the sectors of meat trading and import/export, restaurants and lifestyle.

History[]

Initially, the primary business of Giraudi was dealing with import/export within the meat industry. Founded by Erminio Giraudi in the 1960s,[1] the group established itself in Monaco in the middle of the 1970s. The company has diversified into other domains, notably restaurants and lifestyle products.[2]

Activities and companies[]

Meat[]

The firm has become one of the European leaders in trading and import/export of meat; each year, it handles approximatively 90 000 tons of meat.[3] It is the primary exporter of French beef and Dutch veal, and the European leader in the import of hormone-free US Black Angus, Australian and Canadian Black Angus beef.[4][5] In 2014, it became the first importer of certified Japanese Kobe beef into Europe.[citation needed]

In 2015, Giraudi launched its own lines of processed meats. These include Gourmet Boutique Burgers, Kobe Kreations and Smiley Meals (in partnership with the Smiley Company).[6][7] In the Kobe Kreations range, Riccardo Giraudi created the Jamon de Buey de Kobe, a certified Japanese Kobe beef ham.[8][9] In 2018, this product won Wallpaper's Design Awards and has been elected “Best Working Lunch”.[10]

Restaurants[]

The opened its first restaurant, Beefbar, in 2005 .[11] Since then, Beefbar has added restaurants in Cannes, Mexico, Luxembourg, Mykonos and Hong Kong.[12][13][14][15][16] In 2016, Beefbar Hong Kong won its first Michelin Star in the 2017 Hong Kong & Macau Michelin Guide.[17][18] The group also owns fine dining restaurants in the Principality of Monaco and abroad (Mozza, Bouchon, Song Qi,[19] La Salière, Moshi Moshi,[20] and Beeftro[21][22]). In 2017, it reopened the iconic ANAHI in the Marais, Paris.[23] The restaurant is part of the Conde Nast's best restaurants in the world, in the top 3.[24]

The group has branched out other hospitality segments and developed its first fast casual burger restaurant called Grubers,[25][26][27] an Asian fast casual called Indochine, as well as the Pantone Cafe.[28][29]

Lifestyle[]

The firm's lifestyle activity consists of two companies: Fashion Factory : created in 2006, is the stockist for well-known Italian brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Philip Plein. Miss Bibi, created by Brigitte Giraudi, Erminio Giraudi's daughter and Riccardo Giraudi's sister, is a jewelry and accessories brand which has a shop in Palais Royal Gardens in Paris.[30]
