Glenn H. Gruenhagen (born February 1, 1952) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represents District 18B, which includes parts of McLeod and Sibley counties in the south central Minnesota. He is an insurance agent, owning Gruenhagen Insurance and Financial Services in Glencoe.[1][2]

Early life, education, and career[]

Gruenhagen was raised on a dairy farm near Glencoe. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He earned his Chartered Financial Consultant (Ch.F.C.) designation and his Charted Life Underwriter (C.L.U.) designation from The American College, a training institution for financial planners and insurance agents. Before running for the House, he served on the Glencoe-Silver Lake School Board for 16 years.[1][2]

Gruenhagen was first elected to the House in 2010, opting to run after incumbent Representative Laura Brod decided not to seek reelection. He was reelected in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020.

Personal life[]

Gruenhagen and his wife live in rural Glencoe. They have three daughters and five grandchildren.[1] He is a member of the American Legion and the Rotary Club.[2]
