Godfrey, Georgia

Godfrey is an unincorporated community in Morgan County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.[1]

History[]

The community was named after Dr. Ervine Godrey, a pioneer settler.[2] A post office called Godfrey was established in 1889, and remained in operation until 1965.[3] The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place as the "Town of Godfrey" in 1906.[4] The town's charter was dissolved in 1995.[2]
