Guaymaral Airport (ICAO: SKGY) is a high-elevation airport in the north of Bogotá, Colombia, also serving the towns of Cota and Chía. The runway is 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northeast of Bogota's El Dorado International Airport.

Overview[]

The airport primarily handles general aviation, flight school and traffic. It is the base for private and commercial pilot training schools Aeroandes and Aeroclub de Colombia.[4][5] There are hills east and west of the airport. The parallel grass Runway 11R/29L is the longer, but is unmarked.

The Romeo non-directional beacon (Ident: R) is located 8.5 nautical miles (16 km) south-southwest of the airport. The Zipaquira VOR-DME (Ident: ZIP) is located 13.2 nautical miles (24 km) north-northeast of the airport, and the Bogota VOR-DME (Ident: BOG) is located 15.7 nautical miles (29 km) west of Guaymaral Airport.[6][7][8]
