 • TypeLike many other towns in the Northern part of Cameroon, Guidiguis is traditionally governed by a "Chief". The Chief of the town is a male function and is transmitted from father to son. He detains political, administrative, social and religious religious powers. At political level, he is a crucial instrument in the hands of administrative authorities representing the central government; he plays a significant role in maintaining peace and stability. Depending on his political orientation, he plays a political role in times of elections, particularly in mobilizing voters and changing the pools tendencies as they are very respected, listened and local population is very loyal to him.
