Gujarat Ayurved University is a state university based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. It has a joint campus with Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, an Institute of National Importance established in 2020.[1]

History[]

Gujarat Ayurved University was founded as part of the reorganization of Ayurveda, after India gained independence from Britain in August 1947. It was established in 1967 with its headquarters at Jamnagar, Gujarat.[2]

  • International Center for Ayurvedic Studies
  • University School of Continuing Education in Ayurved

Institutes taken over by ITRA[]

In 2020, Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (an Institute of National Importance) was established in University campus. These institutions were taken over to establish Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda:[4]

  • Institute of Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda
  • International Center for Ayurvedic Studies
  • Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya
  • Maharshi Patanjali Institute For Yoga Naturopathy Education & Research
  • Indian Institute of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences
