Heesco

Heesco (real name Khosnaran Khurelbaatar, Mongolian: Хүрэлбаатарын Хоснаран [1]) is a professional artist with extensive experience in public large scale murals and gallery work with background in fine art, illustration, graphic design and print-media. The artist lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.

Originally from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, he moved to Australia in 1999 and has painted various artworks across Australia, including a massive mural depicting a woman in traditional Mongolian dress at the Victoria University campus in Footscray, winning the Footscray Art Prize for Street Art.

In June 2020, Governor of Victoria invited Heesco to create an artwork to express gratitude of Victorians felt towards the frontline workers who battled the recent catastrophic bushfires and the present COVID-19 global pandemic.

Heesco has an ever growing international presence, having been invited to festivals in Mexico, Russia, Mongolia, as well as Vietnam, and Singapore. Heesco is involved with number of non-profit and charity organisations in Mongolia, and is an ambassador of Lantuun Dohio NGO who work extensively in the field of child protection services and dedicated to fighting human trafficking in Mongolia and overseas.
