Hingalol or Hingalool (Somali: Xingalool) is a small town in the eastern part of the Sanaag region of Somaliland.[2]

Overview[]

Hingalol is situated on the Hadeed Plateau of the Sanaag region.[3]

Hingalore is a town that was created in 1958.[4]A small hamlet, it grew in size in the wake of the Somali Civil War.

In November 2017, Puntland built a military base in Hingalol.[5]

In October 2020, Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Pundtland visits educational institutions in Hingalol.[6]

Education[]

Hingalol has a number of academic institutions. According to the Puntland Ministry of Education, there are 11 primary schools in the Hingalol District. Among these are Mindhicir, Shibiraale, Carmale and Darul Qur'aan.[7] Secondary schools in the area include Hingalol Secondary.[8]
