Hogtan Run is a 1.80 mi (2.90 km) long 1st order tributary to Buffalo Creek in Brooke County, West Virginia. This is the only stream of this name in the United States.[1]

Course[]

Hogtan Run rises about 3 miles east of Windsor Heights, West Virginia, and then flows east and northeast to join Buffalo Creek about 2 miles west of Bethany.[3]

Watershed[]

Hogtan Run drains 1.69 square miles (4.4 km2) of area, receives about 40.2 in/year of precipitation, has a wetness index of 295.41, and is about 66% forested.[5]
