"I Stand" is a song performed by Czech singer Gabriela Gunčíková. The song, written by Christian Schneider, Sara Biglert and Aidan O'Connor represented Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The song was released as a digital download on 12 March 2016 through Webs Music.
Eurovision Song Contest[]
"I Stand" performed by Gabriela Gunčíková was announced as the Czech entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 on 10 March 2016.[1] Following the announcement, the official music video for the song was released on 11 March. "I Stand" was selected as the Czech entry through the decision of the Czech national broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) and a five-member expert jury.[2]
Gunčíková performed the song during the first semi-final of the 2016 contest on 10 May, which was held at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden.[3] She placed 9th in the semi-final, allowing her to proceed and perform the song in the grand final. The grand final took place on 14 May 2016, where the song placed 25th out of 26 participants. The song received 41 points, all from the members of the international juries.
