Invicta began as a Swiss[2] watch company in 1837. It was founded by Raphael Picard in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.[1] In the early 1980s, Invicta went bankrupt, and was sold in 1983 to , which continued producing Invicta watches in Bielle. However, this was short-lived, as later folded due to disappointing sales. Invicta was re-established in 1991, when the brand was acquired by American owners. While the corporate headquarters for Invicta is located in Hollywood, Florida, Invicta still produces some of its line in Switzerland, and specifies these watches as "Swiss Made" on its website.[3][4]

Partnerships[]

In November 2012, Invicta announced a line of watches that are endorsed and designed by hall of Fame NFL player Jason Taylor.[5]

In February 2020, Invicta announced that it has entered into a partnership with Authentic Brands Group (ABG) for Shaquille O'Neal.[6] The company regularly produces collaboration watches, including with artist Romero Britto, Marvel, DC Comics, and others.
