Life[]

Saint Isaiah the Solitary lived in asceticism on a mountain in Egypt then moved to Palestine.[1][2][3]

Much of Saint Isaiah's writings were instructive for monks and solitaries. Very few of his writings are extant, as the majority of them have been destroyed by Muslims.[4]

Saint Isaiah the Solitary died in Gaza around 491 AD.[1][5]
