Itiha Ibrahimpur इटिहा इब्राहिमपुर is a village in Handia Tehsil in Allahabad District of Uttar Pradesh State, India. It belongs to Allahabad Division. It is located 42 km towards East from District headquarters Allahabad. 4 km from Handia. 242 km from State capital Lucknow. The Ganges flows on one side of the village. Agriculture is an important part of the local economy. It is inhabited mainly by Gaharwar and Baghel Rajputs. The nearest railhead is Handia Khas, located on the Delhi Kolkata section. However, few trains halt at Handia (Station Code HDK) making Allahabad (Station Code ALD) a more used rail head. The nearest airports are at Babatpur, Varanasi or Bamrauli airport, Allahabad. The village itself is located on the main stretch of Ganges between Allahabad and Varanasi. Lakshagraha, Kundaura Near Marrow village is also a famous religious spot widely known Mahadev Temple which is well known for their spiritual & cultural activities such as Mahashivratri Festival and Yagya was also arranged, as Nimahra (In Saidabad) and Baraut are main tourist spots of Handia. Lakshagrih and Ranka are main ghats of Handia. Judaipur, Saidabad, Amora and Kallahawa are some of the local markets. Vindhayachal, well known for its Vindhayavasini temple, is a Shakti peeth and also a place from where Indian Standard Time is measured. It is about 20 km from this place and Sitamarhi is about 15 km (provided you cross the Ganges by boat).(Balram Pal)

It is the Village of Gaharwar Rajpoots, 4 km from Handia Tehsil comes on the way of NH-2 also popularly known as G.T. Road (Grand Trunk Road) National highways of India Ganga or Ganges is the only main river in this area. This Place is in the border of the Allahabad District and Sant Ravidas Nagar District. Sant Ravidas Nagar District Suriyavan is East towards this place . Also it is in the Border of other district Jaunpur.

Educational institutes[]

National Inter College is most renowned educational institute in the region and was established in 1946. This college was inaugurated by Lal Bahadur Shastri (Second prime minister of India). HMFA Memorial inst. of engg. and technology and Handia polytechnic technical institutes in the region. An ayurvedic medical college named after Lal Bahadur Shastri. PG College Handia. Maharshi inter college, and postgraduate college [1] is very good destination for those who are seeking for higher education.

Gram Jyoti Girls Inter college also established in Chaturpatty near Marrow village, managed by Mr. Jagdish Narayan Tripathi Advocate, ex student president of CMP Degree College, Allahabad affiliated by University of Allahabad. History[]

In Mahabharat Lakshagraha is described. It is said that Duryodhana wants to kill Pandavas during their Agyatwas, so he ordered to construct a home for Pandvas made of Lahk (a highly inflammable material). This Lakshagrih is situated at the bank of river Ganga in Handia. This place is known as Lakshgrih. Hidimba, The very first of Bheema was from Handia. Some Kapisa (a warrior clan) are currently living in locality of Kapisan. It is believed that Kapisas migrated from ancient Afghanistan before 1500 years. A major portion of this clan is living in East Uttar Pradesh.
