Janghai is a major bazaar and gram panchayat in the district of Jaunpur, in Uttar Pradesh. Janghai is located 226 km kilometres southeast of the state capital, Lucknow. Janghai is 24 kilometres from the tehsil of Handia and 20 kilometer from Machhalishahar.

Janghai's railway station (IR Station code JNH) is at a junction under the Lucknow division of the Northern Railway (India) zone of Indian Railways.

It connects Janghai to Zafarabad Jaunpur to the north, Phaphamau Prayagraj to the south, Varanasi to the east and Partapgarh to the west.

Climate[]

Janghai features the typical version of a humid subtropical climate that is common to cities in north-central India. Janghai experiences three seasons: a hot, dry summer, a cool, dry winter and a warm, humid monsoon season. The summer season lasts from April to June with the maximum temperatures ranging from 40 °C (104 °F) to 45 °C (113 °F). The monsoon season begins in early July and lasts until September. The winter season spans December through February. Temperatures rarely drop to the freezing mark. Maximum temperatures are around 35 °C (95 °F) and minimum around 10 °C (50 °F). Janghai also witnesses severe fog in January, resulting in massive traffic and travel delays. It does not snow in Janghai.

The lowest temperature recorded in Janghai was −2 °C (28 °F), with the highest recorded temperature being 48 °C (118 °F).[citation needed]

Janghai is an A category railway station of Northern Railway division. It is well connected to all major cities of India.[citation needed] Janghai is home to the largest railway station in the immediate area. Many people from different districts also come here to catch trains. Indian Railways' Passenger Reservation System is available at this station. There are sufficient trains for metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Allahabad, Varanasi, Lucknow and other cities.

Janghai is connected to Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad and other cities, such as Azamgarh, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Sultanpur, and Ghazipur. The bus stop is opposite to Janghai station.

The buses and jeeps are the main transport of this area. The Frequency of buses plying between Janghai and Handia is very Good. Janghai Bus Depot is located opposite to Janghai Railway Station where you can get buses to destinations like Prayagraj, Search Results Web results Machhlishahr etc.

One of the main routes is Janghai to Handia, an about 26-kilometre-long (16 mi) road; in-between stops are Janghai bazaar, Bypass, Chuka Mode, Champapur, Chanethu, Annuwa, Belkha, Vrindavan, Vari, Madwa, Sirsa, Katahara, Ciady, Handia.

Janghai also connected with NH31 via Machhalishahar. In the year 2017 Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadakari announced a new four lane highway between Bhadohi and Machhalishahar. This national highway will pass through Janghai. The survey of the proposed highway will start in January 2018[1]

Air[]

Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport is 56 km from Janghai. Allahabad Bamrauli Airport (approximately 60 km away) is also easily accessible from Janghai. Numerous domestic and international flights are accessible.[2]
