Jasmin Hamid (born 18 February 1984 Helsinki) is a Finnish Tatar actress, politician and investor.[1][2][3]
Career[]
Theater and television[]
Jasmin Hamid has a master's degree in acting. She started her studies in (Kruunuhaka secondaryschool), on a dancing program and continued in a theater university during 2003 - 2008, majoring in acting. She operated as a member of the board in the theater university during 2004 - 2005, as vice chairman in 2006 and eventually as a chairman in 2007.[4][5][6] She works as a freelance actress.[7] In theater, she has acted for example in Turku city's in 2007.[8]
During the years 1999 - 2002, Hamid worked as a TV-host on a youthprogram. During years 2009 - 2013, she played a character called in television soap opera Salatut Elämät.[7] In 2013, she worked as a host and producer for a lottery TV-program.[4][9][10]
In TV-show Sorjonen (Bordertown), she played character during 2016 - 2019.[11]
Politics[]
Hamid operated in Helsinki local elections in 2008, as a candidate for Green League. With 592 votes, she was chosen as deputy commissioner.[12] In 2009 - 2012, she was also an alternate in (Helsinki culturecenter).[13] In 2012, Hamid was chosen for Helsinki council with 1,200 votes.[14]
In the real estate board, Hamid has been profiled as an advocate for city-culture. She has for example defended Hakaniemi hall merchants' wishes for a glass hall and prevented the city's plan to sell the Hietalahti hall.[15][16]
In addition to her career in the city government, she has also worked at leasing company board's chairman.[17]
Investing[]
Hamid began investing with stocks. She bought her first investment housing in 2013, from Kallio. Hamid has been vocal about the fact that while investors in media are often portrayed as suited-up professionals, investing actually is possible for others as well. She has encouraged those who are interested in investing, by saying that one can wait for the right time forever, but at some point you just have to begin with something.[2]
Personal life[]
Jasmin Hamid is a Finnish Tatar. Her grandparents came from the tatar-villages of Russia. She married in June, 2015. They have two children, a boy and a girl. She speaks Tatar to her children.[3][18]
