John Xintavelonis

John Xintavelonis (also known as John X[1]) is a Tasmanian actor and comedian, known in Australia for his performance as Pumbaa the warthog in the Australian production of the stage musical, The Lion King.

Career[]

Xintavelonis has worked for many Tasmanian production companies including the 10 Days on the Island Festival, Big Monkey, ExitLeft, Fifth Wall, Zootango, Theatre Alfresco, Theatre Royal/XWWX, Hills Centre and Old Nick.[citation needed]

His screen work includes television shows Something Hot Before Bed (Australian Broadcasting Corporation); TODAY (Nine) Sunrise (Seven); Football Life (WIN TV) and film appearances in Sound Of One Hand Clapping (Artist Services) and Teamwork (IzzyTheDog).[citation needed]

He has also hosted a Tasmanian radio program as well as doing voices for animations, advertisements and puppet theatre.[citation needed] John played Mr. Braithwaite in Billy Elliot the Musical in Sydney and Melbourne.[1][2] In August 2009 he travelled to South Korea with Jekyll & Hyde The Musical where he played the roles of Lord Savage and The Spider. In November 2009 he appeared on City Homicide for 7 Network and John Safran's Race Relations for ABC TV.
