The show premiered on 15 November 2021 on Surya TV.[1] It stars Rebecca Santhosh and Nithin Jake Joseph[2] in lead roles along with Gayathri Mayura, Raghavan, Sreelatha Namboothiri, Uma Nair and Krishna Prabha in pivotal roles.[3][4] All episodes of this show is streaming on Sun NXT.[5] It is an official remake of Tamil TV series Roja.[6]
Plot[]
Pooja (Rebecca Santhosh) is raised in an orphanage, Snehasadhanam by her foster-father Vishwanathan (Raghavan) and has a sweet, kind disposition. She, in reality, is Anu, separated from her family following an accident and is believed to be dead. She comes across her biological father, Nandagopan (Mohan Ayroor) and develops a bond with him, though unaware of each other's identities. Arjun (Nithin Jake Joseph), humble despite his wealth, is a leading criminal lawyer. Pooja and Arjun meet but develops a mutual dislike due to their contrasting personalities.
Vishwanathan gets falsely accused of the murder of Theja and is arrested; Nandagopan takes up the case. The murder was done by Sakshi, (Maneesha Jayasingh) who wishes to buy Snehasadanam along with Priya (Gayathri Mayura), another inmate of Snehasadanam by her side. Priya masquerades herself as the long-lost Anu and returns to Nandagopan. Due to Pooja and Priya's varying statements on Theja murder Case, Nandagopan backs off from the case, causing Pooja to look for another lawyer. Pooja attempts to hire Arjun but he disagrees citing that Pooja won't be able to pay his fees. Nandagopan's late wife, Arunima's (Neena Kurup) family reunites with fake Anu and decides to get her married to Arjun, her cousin. Arjun who loathes love and marriage disagrees but eventually relents due to the family's pressure. In an attempt to break the proposal, he puts ahead a condition in front of Pooja to enter a one-year contract marriage with him in return for him acquitting her father without any fees. Without another choice, Pooja accepts the offer and the two gets secretly married in a temple on Arjun's engagement day. Pooja and Arjun start to pretend to be husband and wife in front of the family. Arjun's family, unable to accept Pooja, tries to create problems in their lives and tries to discredit her on multiple occasions. But soon, Pooja's good nature starts to impress them and the family starts to accept Pooja.
In the meanwhile, Arjun and Pooja develop a good friendship bond and Arjun starts to fall for Pooja. A misunderstanding caused by Priya and Arjun's aunt, Madhumita (Krishna Prabha) makes the family believe that Pooja is having an extramarital relationship with someone. Pooja clears the confusion making the bond between her and the family even stronger.[7]
