Khabbab ibn al-Aratt (Arabic: خَبَّاب ٱبْن ٱلْأَرَتّ‎, Khabbāb ibn al-ʾAratt, born c. 587), was a Sahabah of Muhammad from the Yamama region and an ethnic Chaldean.[citation needed] He is a revered member of the early Muslim community.[citation needed] He was reportedly a master swordsmith, and he participated in all the later battles of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.[citation needed] His son, Abdullah, was a commander in Ali's army in the Battle of Nahrawan and was killed by the Khawarij.[citation needed]
